Striking Victorian gothic house
The striking Victorian gothic house is a rare survival of the work of William Burges with ornate patterns in many rooms. One of the finest gardens in Devon, mainly woodland and shrubs with something of interest throughout the seasons. Drifts of spring bulbs, summer flowering shrubs, pool garden and amusing animal topiary. Opening Times: House: 27 Mar - 31 Oct: daily except Fris (but open Good Fri), 11am - 5.30pm (Oct: closed Thur/Fri). Nov/Dec: Sun, 2 - 4pm, pre-booked groups only.
