Outstanding example of a large, stone-built Elizabethan mansion, begun in 1570 with 17th century alterations. The fine gardens, currently being restored, are home to beautiful peacocks. Grounds, gardens and ground floor only, accessible to disabled visitors. Open late March-late October, daily. Early Nov - late March, Wed-Sun only. Closed 24-26 Dec.
