An impressive Welsh border castle
Welsh border castle remodelled by Roger Vaughan in the 1580s. Still a family home, it has housed among others the de Kinnardsleys, the de la Beres and parliamentary general Sir Thomas Morgan. Shows some fine plasterwork and panelling. Gardens boast one of the largest ginkgo trees in the UK. Many yew hedges and a walled kitchen garden. Will be hosting open air theatrical events this summer. Opening Times: Castle & Gardens: 12 Jul - 13 Aug: Mon - Fri. Additional weekends to be arranged. Open for guided tours only at 2.30 & 3.30pm    |
