A beautiful Georgian house, overlooking the Montrose Basin
This beautiful Georgian house, overlooking the Montrose Basin, was designed by William Adam and built in 1730 for David Erskine, Lord Dun. Lady Augusta Kennedy-Erskine was the natural daughter of William IV and Mrs Jordan and House of Dun contains many royal mementos. The house features superb plasterwork by Joseph Enzer. Opening Times: House & shop: Good Fri - Easter Mon & 1 May - 3 Oct: daily, 1.30 - 5.30pm. Weekends in Oct: 1.30 - 5.30pm, last admission 5pm. Restaurant: same dates but opens 11am. Garden & grounds: all year, daily 9.30am - sunset
