Hoghton Tower, home of 14th Baronet, is one of the most dramatic looking houses in northern England. Three houses have occupied the hill site since 1100 with the present house re-built by Thomas Hoghton between 1560 - 1565. Rich and varied historical events including the Knighting of the Loin `Sirloin' by James I in 1617. Historic Houses Association Member. Opening Times: Jul, Aug & Sept: Mon - Thur, 11am - 4pm.
