The south front of this magnificent building employs a plethora of crow-stepped gables, turrets, sculpted dormers and finials in the form of musicians, to create a marvellous fa‡ade. The five towers of the castle bear witness to the five families who have owned it. Fyvie Castle boasts the finest wheel stair in Scotland and there is a superb collection of arms and armour and paintings, including works by Batoni, Raeburn, Romney, Gainsborough, Opie and Hoppner. Opening Times: Good Fri - Easter Mon, 1 May - 30 Jun & 1 Sept - 3 Oct: daily, 1.30 - 5.30pm. 1 Jul - 31 Aug: daily, 11am - 5.30pm. Weekends in Oct: 1.30 - 5.30pm (last admission 4.45pm). Tearoom: as castle but 12.30pm when castle opens at 1.30pm. Grounds: all year, daily, 9.30am - sunset
