Flowing with atmosphere and enticment
Duart Castle has been a Maclean stronghold since the 12th century. The keep was built by Lachlan Lubanach, 5th Chief, in 1360. Burnt by the English in 1758, the castle was restored in 1912 and today is still the home of the Chief of the Clan Maclean. It has a spectacular position overlooking the Sound of Mull. Historic Houses Association Member. Opening Times: April: Sun to Thurs 11:00 to 16:00. May to first weekend in October: 7 days 10:30 to 17:30. |
