Spectacular views of the Solent
This century, the fort has been part of an RN and RAF base. Spectacular views of the Solent can be seen from the roof. Henry VIII built this coastal fort to command the sea passage to Southampton. The barrack room has been restored to its pre-World War I artillery garrison appearance, complete with bunks and uniform. Disabled access Keep and ground floor only.
