An enchanting and romantic spectacle
An enchanting and romantic spectacle, situated high on a wooded hilltop dominating the surrounding landscape. Built on the site of a Norman castle, this is largely an early 17th century mansion. Most delightful is the `Little Castle', a bewitching folly with intricate carvings, panelling and wall painting. There is also an impressive 17th century indoor Riding School built by the Duke of Newcastle. Opening Times: 1 Apr - 31 Oct: daily, 10am - 6pm (5pm in Oct). 1 Nov - 31 Mar: Wed - Sun, 10am - 4pm.
