Prideaux PlaceHistoric Houses & Building
|
Tucked away above the busy port of Padstow, the home of the Prideaux family for over 400 years, is surrounded by gardens and wooded grounds overlooking a deer park and the Camel estuary to the moors beyond. The house still retains its `E' shape Elizabethan front and contains fine paintings and furniture as well as an exhibition reflecting its emergence as a major international film location. The impressive outbuildings have been restored in recent years and the 16th century plaster ceiling in the great chamber has been uncovered for the first time since 1760. Historic Houses Association Member. Opening Times: Easter Sun - 7 Oct: Sun - Thur, 1.30 - 5pm. Late Spring & Aug BH Mons: 11am - 5pm. Open all year round for groups 15+ by arrangement
