Hyde Park is one of London's finest landscapes, extending over 140 hectares (350 acres). The park survived initially because of the love of early monarchs for the chase. It remains open and natural, a reflection of the Tudor hunting ground it once was. Today this vast public space if but a few steps from some of the busiest shopping streets in the world, but within its precincts are peace, enjoyment, recreation and delight for all who use it. it continues to be enhanced, protected and preserved for future generations
