Home of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli from 1847 - 1881, Hughenden has a red brick, 'gothic' exterior. The interior is a comfortable Victorian home and still holds many of Disraeli's pictures, books and furniture, as well as other fascinating mementoes of the life of the great statesman and writer. The surrounding park and woodland have lovely walks, and the formal garden has been recreated in the spirit of Mary Anne Disraeli's colourful designs. Opening Times: House: 1 - 30 Mar: Sat & Sun. 31 Mar - 31 Oct: Wed - Sun & BH Mons, 1 - 5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Closed Good Fri. Gardens open same days as house, 12 noon - 5pm.
