The house forms a splendid backdrop to Christopher Lloyd's acclaimed gardens
Built in the 1450s, the manor of Dixter was bought in 1910 by Nathaniel Lloyd. He employed Lutyens to renovate and extend the medieval hall house, creating a very impressive property. The house forms a splendid backdrop to Christopher Lloyd's acclaimed gardens. His style is always bold and his use of plants and colour give a garden which has something to delight and inspire whatever the season. Of particular note are the Long Border and the Exotic Garden. Historic Houses Association Member. Opening Times: 1 Apr - 31 Oct: Tue - Sun, 2 - 5pm (last admission)
