Elan Valley
Place of Interest
|
The Elan Valley Lakelands are the first and most famous of mid Wales's many man-made reservoirs
The four Elan Lakes form a snaking chain of water 7 miles long. The area is not only known for the natural beauty of its open mountains, moors and oakwoods but also for its prolific bird-life. Over looking the river Elan is a statue of the poet Shelley, who lived with his first wife in a house how submerged beneath the waters of Caban-coch.
