Dyrham ParkHistoric Houses & Building

Built for William Blathwayt, Secretary at War and Secretary of State to William III between 1691 and 1710. The rooms have changed little since they were furnished by Blathwayt and their contents are recorded in his housekeeper's inventory. Surrounding the house, the 263 acre ancient parkland with herd of fallow deer, overlooks the Severn valley. Opening Times: House: 27 Mar - 31 Oct: Fri - Tues, 12 noon - 5.30pm. Garden: as house 11am - 5.30pm or dusk if earlier. Park: daily (closed 25 Dec) 12 noon - 5.30pm (opens at 11am if garden open)
