Duthrie Park Winter Gardens

Aberdeen is affectionately know as the "Flower of Scotland". After all the city has won the "Britain in Bloom" competition a record ten times. The Duthrie Park Winter Gardens are now reputed to be the largest gardens under glass in Europe. There are over 600 species of cactus in the immense cactus house and even a talking cactus "Spike" who is a delight to children. The Duthrie Park itself is one of Aberdeen's largest parks and the "Rose Mountain" boasts more than 100,000 rose bushes - a riot of colour in the summertime.
