Explore the heritage of this lovely museum on a guided tour.
Dove Cottage was William Wordsworth's home from 1799-1808. Visitors are offered guided tours of the Cottage. The garden, "a little nook of mountain-ground", is open when the weather permits. The award-winning Museum displays the Wordsworth Trust's unique collections of manuscripts, books and paintings interpreting the life and work of Wordsworth, his family and circle. There is a programme of special exhibitions throughout the year. An excellent shop sells books, gifts and local crafts relating to English literature and the Lake District. The Dove Cottage Tea Room and Restaurant is a charming new restaurant specialising in local vegetarian cuisine. For more details on the Tea Room and Restaurant please contact Tel: 015394 35268.
