Crownhill Fort

At Crownhill Fort you are free to explore the 16 acre site, honeycombed with tunnels, surrounded by massive ramparts, protected by a deep dry moat and guarded by many cannon. After a long restoration the Fort now stands proud as one of the largest and best preserved of Britain's great Victorian forts, and in particular boasts the Moncrieff Disappearing Gun, the only example in the world.
