Batsford Arboretum including The Cotswold Falconry Centre &Family day out, Visitor Centres
|
The Arboretum was designed and planted in the 1800s by Lord Redesale on his return from a post at the British Embassy in Tokyo, bringing a distinctly Japanese element into an English setting with scarlet, grey and golden leaved trees in contrast with the dark evergreens. Springtime, with daffodils and early flowering trees, and October with its blaze of autumn colours are outstanding, but there is much to be seen throughout the summer months. The Falconry Centre offers a special experience to visitors. Up to twenty birds of prey are flown each day, exhibiting their individual species' aerial skills
