Bateman'sHistoric Houses & Building
|
Home of author Rudyard Kipling 1902-36. The house was built by a local ironmonger in 1634. Today the rooms are left as they were when the Kiplings lived here and include Kipling's study. The exhibition rooms contain memorabilia and mementos of Kipling's work and life. The garden, laid out to complement the house and surrounding countryside includes a rose, herb and wild garden. Beautiful water mill, also see Kipling's Rolls Royce.
