The house, built for the Chichesters in 1822 and still with much original furniture, is full of collections for every taste, including model ships, costume, pewter, shells and many other fascinating objects. Housed in the stables is the Trust's large collection of horse drawn carriages. Carriage rides through the 30 acres of peaceful informal gardens and past the formal terraced Victorian garden, start from the front of the house. Miles of walks through woods. Parks grazed by Shetland ponies and Jacob sheep. Opening Times: 28 Mar - 31 Oct: Sun - Fri (& BH Sats), 11am - 5.30pm. Paths through park and woods open during daylight hours from Nov - Mar
